Özet
Son 30 yılda diyet ve sağlık hakkında çok şey öğrenilmiş olmasına rağmen, diyet faktörleri ile uygarlığımızın birçok önemli hastalığı arasındaki ilişkilere yönelik bilgimiz hala tam olmaktan uzaktır. Bu hastalıklar sadece en çok dikkat çeken kanser ve kalp hastalıklarını değil, aynı zamanda konjenital malformasyonları, nörodejeneratif hastalıkları, göz rahatsızlıklarını, kırıkları ve konağın beslenme durumundan etkilendiği varsayılan birçok bulaşıcı hastalığı içerir. Randomize denemeler sonunda bu soruların bazılarına kesin cevaplar sağlanabilir.
