Özet

Mesane ağrı sendromu (MAS), sıklık, aciliyet ve noktüri gibi üriner semptomlarının bir veya birkaçının  eşlik ettiği, pelvik ağrı veya basınçla karakterize kronik bir durumur. MAS’ın kesin etyolojisi anlaşılamamıştır ve değişik patofizyolojik mekanizmalar öngörülmüştür. MAS’li hastaların uzun vadede semptomlarda iyileşme veya düzelme olabilir. Farmakolojik tedavi, yüksek bırakma oranları ve minimum uzun vadeli etkinlik ile değişken başarı oranlarına sahiptir. İntravezikal ajanlardan tedavide Dimetil sülfoksit (DMSO), hyaluronik asit (HA), kondroitin sülfat (KS), heparin, PPS ve lidokain dahil olmak üzere farmakolojik ajanlar kullanılmaktadır.
