Hayvan Hastalıkları ve Üretim Ekonomisinin Önemi

Özet

Hayvan hastalıkları hayvan refahı ve halk sağlığı açısından önemli bir sorundur. Hayvan hastalıkları; mortalite, üretim kayıpları, kontrol harcamaları, ticaret hacminin düşmesi sonucu azalan pazar payları gibi pek çok alanda ekonomik kayıplara neden olur. Bu bölümde hayvan hastalıklarının hayvancılık alt sektörlerine ve genel ekonomiye etkilerine kısaca değinildikten sonra hayvancılıkta üretim ekonomisi konusunun önemi vurgulanmıştır. Üretim ekonomisi; maliyeti oluşturan masraf unsurlarını, girdi çıktı ilişkilerini, kârları maksimize etmek ve/veya maliyetleri minimize etmek için kaynak kullanımını inceler. Bu bölümde hayvancılıkta girdilerin niteliği, ekonomik koşullar, girdi çıktı ilişkileri, üretim fonksiyonları, üretim aşamaları, üretimin üç bölgesi, tek değişken girdi için kâr maksimizasyonu konuları örneklerle anlatılmıştır.
