Pediatric Nursing Use Of Health Information Systems
Özet
This literature-based review examines the strategic importance and integration of Health Information Systems (SBS) within pediatric nursing, emphasizing how digital transformation enhances child healthcare quality, safety, and efficiency. Given that infants and children possess distinct sensitivities and specialized care needs, the American Academy of Pediatrics advocates for tailored digital technologies to mitigate clinical errors and support pediatric patient-centered care. The text evaluates various specialized frameworks, including Nursing Information Systems, which optimize care planning, clinical practices, and administrative functions such as shift scheduling and budgeting. Additionally, Clinical Decision Support Systems (CPSS) are shown to drastically minimize pediatric medication dosage errors and strengthen intervention practices, although nursing adherence strategies remain necessary. The review also highlights the significant impact of E-Health and Tele-Nursing applications; these portals facilitate vital tracking of immunization and growth, host web-based educational interventions for chronic conditions like asthma and epilepsy, and provide effective remote training or telelactation support for families and healthcare professionals. Ultimately, the authors conclude that fostering informatics competencies among pediatric nurses is a critical factor for ensuring safe, evidence-based, and high-quality patient outcomes in modern digitalized healthcare environments.
