The rapid advancement in communication and information technologies has carried traditional healthcare systems into a digital transformation. Applications such as e-health, telemedicine, and telenursing emerging in this process play critical roles in reducing hospital dependency through continuous service delivery, as well as cost and time savings. Especially today, when the number of surgeries and chronic illnesses is increasing, the early discharge processes of patients have enhanced the importance of postoperative follow-up. Tele-surgical nursing offers support through communication tools in a wide spectrum, from the preoperative preparations of surgical patients to their postoperative home care. Nurses achieve significant success in reducing major complications like surgical site infections (SSI) and readmission rates through remote monitoring practices such as tracking vital signs, monitoring surgical drainage, and managing medication and exercise. While this system provides major advantages like ease of access for distant and disadvantaged individuals and preventing infection risks during pandemic periods, it also involves challenges such as technical glitches, inadequate budget, and a lack of technological literacy. To increase the effectiveness of tele-surgical nursing in future healthcare management, it is recommended to complete legal regulations, clarify job descriptions, expand certified training for nurses, and ensure public technological integration.
