Focusing on the multidimensional relationship between climate change and migration movements, this comprehensive study examines the critical responsibilities of public health nurses in addressing what is considered the greatest threat to global public health in the twenty-first century. Environmental degradations, rising sea levels, and climate-induced natural disasters drive mass displacements globally, rendering migrants highly vulnerable to infectious diseases, chronic illnesses, nutritional deficiencies, and severe mental health challenges while hindering their socio-economic adaptation. Guided by Florence Nightingale’s Environmental Theory and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, public health nurses occupy a unique position to mitigate these adverse impacts through active policy advocacy, development of community emergency preparedness plans, and cross-disciplinary collaborations. Furthermore, the study highlights the dual role of nurses in clinical settings, where maximizing resource efficiency, properly managing medical waste, and minimizing institutional energy consumption contribute directly to reducing environmental footprints. Ultimately, this academic work serves as an essential resource for understanding how nurse leaders must transcend traditional caregiving boundaries to champion climate justice and safeguard the social determinants of health for displaced populations.
