This study examines the contribution of Electronic Human Resource Management (e-HRM), which developed under the influence of digital technologies and the 4th Industrial Revolution, to the competitiveness of organizations in light of literature reviews and empirical research findings. While the importance of intellectual capital and strategic human resource management is gradually increasing in the 21st-century knowledge-based economy, e-HRM is classified into three main types: operational, relational, and transformational. Operational e-HRM provides cost savings and time efficiency by automating routine administrative burdens such as payroll and personnel data. Relational e-HRM supports workforce management by facilitating the attraction, training, and retention of qualified talent through practices such as e-recruitment, e-learning, and e-performance management. Transformational e-HRM elevates the HR department from an administrative role to a strategic business partner and change agent. Studies in the literature demonstrate that e-HRM systems supported by technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and cloud computing improve HR service quality, accelerate decision-making processes, and provide firms with a sustainable competitive advantage in the global market. Accordingly, e-HRM is not merely the adoption of technology, but serves as a critical strategic lever for organizations to achieve their change management and sustainable business performance goals. Offering foresight to executive managers and HR professionals, this digital transformation shapes the future of strategic human resource management.
