Şeffaf Plakların Erken Ortodontik Tedavide Kullanımı
Özet
Şeffaf plaklar, günümüzde estetik ve konforlu yapıları nedeniyle erken dönem ortodontik tedavilerde (Faz 1) giderek daha popüler hale gelen proaktif tekniklerdir. Bu yöntem; hafif çapraşıklıklar, yer darlıkları, derin veya açık kapanışlar ile fonksiyonel çene kaymaları gibi anomalilerin karma dişlenme dönemindeki çocuklarda düzeltilmesini amaçlar. Geleneksel sabit apareylere kıyasla daha az ağrıya yol açması, ağız içi yaralanmaları minimuma indirmesi, dijital simülasyon imkanı sunması ve klinikte kısa kontrol seansları gerektirmesi en belirgin avantajlarındandır. Ayrıca çocuklarda motivasyonu artırmak amacıyla plakların arka bölümlerinde kullanım süresine göre renk değiştiren özel indikatör alanlar yer almaktadır. Buna karşın, başarısının tamamen hasta kooperasyonuna (günlük 20-22 saatlik kullanım) bağlı olması, apareylerin kaybolma riskinin yüksekliği ve Türkiye şartlarındaki maliyetinin klasik yöntemlere kıyasla daha fazla olması gibi dezavantajları bulunmaktadır. Sonuç olarak, şeffaf plaklar büyüme ve gelişim sürecindeki çocuklarda doğru vaka seçimi ve hekim tecrübesiyle başarılı sonuçlar verirken, uzun dönemli etkinliğinin netleşmesi için daha fazla bilimsel çalışmaya ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır.
Clear aligners have become increasingly popular in early orthodontic treatment (Phase 1) due to their aesthetic and comfortable nature, shifting practice from reactive to proactive approaches. This technique aims to correct anomalies such as mild crowding, space deficiencies, deep or open bites, and functional shifts in children during the mixed dentition period. Compared to traditional fixed appliances, key advantages include lower pain levels, minimal intraoral injuries, predictability through digital simulations, and shorter clinical appointment times. Additionally, to monitor compliance in pediatric patients, these aligners feature specific color-changing indicators in the posterior region that transition based on wear time. Conversely, significant disadvantages involve strict dependence on patient cooperation (20-22 hours of daily wear), a high risk of losing the appliances, and elevated treatment costs in Turkey compared to conventional methods. In conclusion, clear aligners yield successful outcomes in growing children when paired with precise case selection and clinical expertise, although further long-term comparative studies are required to fully establish their efficacy.
