Çocukluk Çağında Lomber Ponksiyon ve Beyin Omurilik Sıvısı Analizi

Özet

Lomber ponksiyon (LP), çocukluk çağında merkezi sinir sistemi hastalıklarının teşhis ve tedavisinde kullanılan, beyin omurilik sıvısının (BOS) analiz edilmesini sağlayan kritik bir girişimsel işlemdir. Bu prosedür; enfeksiyonlar, demiyelinizan hastalıklar ve kafa içi basınç artışı gibi durumların tanısında temel rol oynarken, uygulama sırasında hastanın pozisyonu, sterilite ve iğne seçimi teknik başarıyı doğrudan etkiler. BOS analizi; glukoz, protein, hücre sayımı ve basınç ölçümü gibi parametreleri kapsayarak hastalıkların ayırıcı tanısında hayati veriler sunar. Her ne kadar baş ağrısı ve sırt ağrısı gibi geçici komplikasyonlar sık görülse de, doğru teknik ve uygun endikasyonla yapıldığında işlemin tanısal faydası risklerinden oldukça fazladır.

 

Lumbar puncture (LP) is a critical interventional procedure used in childhood for the diagnosis and treatment of central nervous system diseases by enabling the analysis of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). While this procedure plays a fundamental role in diagnosing infections, demyelinating diseases, and increased intracranial pressure, technical success is directly influenced by patient positioning, sterility, and needle selection during application. CSF analysis provides vital data for differential diagnosis through parameters such as glucose, protein, cell count, and pressure measurement. Although temporary complications like headaches and back pain are common, the diagnostic benefits of the procedure significantly outweigh the risks when performed with the correct technique and appropriate indications.
