Delivering culturally sensitive and individualized healthcare within modern multicultural societies relies heavily on the critical integration of transcultural nursing and communication skills. Culture exerts a profound, often unconscious influence on individuals' health beliefs, perceptions of illness, treatment processes, spiritual practices, and mourning rituals. Nurses must develop cultural competence by recognizing their own cultural values while respecting the unique multicultural backgrounds, beliefs, and language requirements of their patients. The language barrier, recognized as one of the most significant obstacles in healthcare, diminishes the quality of care, causes cross-cultural misunderstandings, and restricts disadvantaged groups from accessing services. Alongside verbal communication, nonverbal elements such as eye contact, body language, and personal space vary significantly across cultural norms and play a decisive role in establishing a therapeutic relationship. Furthermore, assessing religion, spirituality, and bereavement processes through a holistic lens remains essential for managing ethical dilemmas and planning individualized patient care. Within this context, both in globally diverse environments and in Turkey—a country with a rich cultural heritage—integrating transcultural nursing education and effective communication strategies into nursing curricula is highly imperative to ensure the provision of qualified healthcare services.
