Doğum aktivizmi yoluyla doğum hizmetlerinde iyileştirmeler
Özet
Bu metin, ebeveynlerin doğum aktivizmi yoluyla doğum hizmetlerini iyileştirmedeki rollerini ve geçmişini ele almaktadır. İlk modern ebeveyn grupları 1950'ler ve 1960'larda Birleşik Krallık'ta kurulmuş ve babaların doğum odasına girmesi gibi önemli değişiklikler sağlamıştır. İnternet ve sosyal medyanın gelişmesiyle ebeveynlerin sesi daha geniş kitlelere ulaşmış, obstetrik şiddet gibi sorunlar ulusal ve uluslararası düzeyde tartışılmaya başlanmıştır. Bu hareketler, Dünya Sağlık Örgütü'nün (DSÖ) olumlu doğum deneyimi tanımlarını genişletmesine ve BM komitelerinin ülke raporlarında doğum bakımı sorunlarına yer vermesine ön ayak olmuştur. Metinde, kadınların güvenli ve destekleyici ortamlarda doğum yapma beklentileri vurgulanırken, Milli Hill'in Pozitif Doğum Hareketi (PBM) ve Duncan Fisher'ın babaları doğum sürecine dahil etmeyi amaçlayan "Dahil Aile" çalışmaları örnek vakalar olarak sunulmaktadır. Son bölümde ise savunuculuk faaliyetlerini sürdürülebilir kılmak için ekip kurma, değerleri belirleme, kapasiteyi artırma ve bilgi sahibi olma gibi stratejik öneriler ve eylem planları paylaşılmaktadır.
This text discusses the role and history of parents in improving maternity services through birth activism. The first modern parent groups were established in the UK during the 1950s and 1960s, achieving significant changes such as allowing fathers into delivery rooms. With the rise of the internet and social media, parents' voices reached wider audiences, bringing issues like obstetric violence into national and international debates. These movements led the World Health Organization (WHO) to expand its definitions of positive childbirth experiences and prompted UN committees to include maternity care issues in country reports. While emphasizing women's expectations for safe and supportive birthing environments, the text presents Milli Hill's Positive Birth Movement (PBM) and Duncan Fisher's "Family Included" initiatives, which aim to engage fathers in the birth process, as case studies. The final section shares strategic recommendations and action plans to make advocacy sustainable, including building a team, deciding on values, building capacity, and staying informed
