Sinir Sistemi Hastalıkları
Özet
Atlarda nörolojik bulgularla seyreden viral enfeksiyonlar, klinik önemlerinin yanı sıra zoonotik potansiyelleri nedeniyle veteriner hekimlik ve halk sağlığı açısından dikkatle değerlendirilmesi gereken hastalıklardır. Flaviviridae ailesinde yer alan Batı Nil virusu, Japon ensefaliti virusu ve kene kaynaklı ensefalit virusu; Togaviridae ailesinde yer alan at ensefaliti virusları; ayrıca kuduz, Borna hastalığı ve Nipah virus enfeksiyonları, farklı bulaşma yollarına sahip olmakla birlikte çoğunlukla merkezi sinir sistemi tutulumu ile öne çıkar. Bu hastalıklarda vektörler, rezervuar konaklar, yaban hayatı ve çevresel faktörler enfeksiyon döngüsünün devamında önemli rol oynar. Atlarda ateş, davranış değişiklikleri, ataksi, kas tremorları, paralizi ve ölüm gibi bulgular görülebilir. Bu nedenle hastalıkların tanınması, ayırıcı tanısı, bildirimi ve kontrolünde tek sağlık yaklaşımı temel öneme sahiptir.
