This study aims to examine exercise motivation in Turkey. Exercise is an important factor for health, and this study investigates theoretical models to understand and enhance exercise motivation. The theoretical models of health behavior include personal and cognitive factors, health beliefs, the relapse prevention model, locus of control, attitudes and behavioral intentions, models that consider health as a value or motivation, and motivational approaches of cognitive appraisal theory. Additionally, this study explores the motivational aspects that influence exercise adherence, pleasure, and exercise compliance. This study makes a significant contribution to understanding and improving exercise motivation in Turkey.
