This book is derived from the thesis titled \"Examining Career Barriers of Female Academics Providing Sports Education in Higher Education Institutions\". The aim of the research is to examine the career barriers of female academics providing sports education. General information is provided about the historical development of the concept of career and career approaches. Additionally, factors influencing career choice and theories related to career choice are discussed. The theories examined include Holland's vocational personality theory, trait-factor theory, Ginzberg et al.'s development theory, job fit theory, Super's self-concept theory, Roe's personality theory, social learning theory, Schein's career values theory, and Tiedeman and O'Hara's career decision-making theory. This book can be used as a resource to understand the career barriers of female academics providing sports education and to overcome these barriers.
