Özet

Solunum sistemi acilleri, kedi ve köpeklerde hızlı tanı ve müdahale gerektirmektedir. Solunum problemi ile kliniğe başvuran hastaların değerlendirilmesi, stabilizasyonu ve uygun tedavisinin planlanması acil veteriner hekimliğin temel konularından biridir. Kedi ve köpeklerde solunum sistemi acilleri; üst ve alt solunum yolu obstrüksiyonları, pulmoner parankimal bozukluklar, plevral boşluk hastalıkları ve travmaya bağlı solunum yetmezlikleri gibi çok çeşitli etiyolojilere bağlı olarak ortaya çıkabilmektedir. Klinik belirtiler hafif bir taşipneden ciddi dispneye ve kardiyopulmoner arrest tablosuna kadar geniş bir yelpazede görülebilir. Hastaya müdahale sırasında stres düzeyinin artırılması bile klinik durumun hızla kötüleşmesine neden olabileceğinden, tanısal yaklaşım ile stabilizasyon uygulamaları dengeli bir şekilde kurulmalıdır. Başarılı bir acil yaklaşım için hava yolu açıklığının sağlanması, yeterli ventilasyon ve oksijenasyonun sürdürülmesi, altta yatan nedenin hızla belirlenmesi ve uygun tedavi protokollerinin uygulanması esastır. Bu bölümde kedi ve köpeklerde karşılaşılan solunum sistemi acillerinde distress tanıma, üst ve alt solunum yolu obstrüksiyonları, pulmoner ödem, pnömotoraks, hemotoraks, torakosentez uygulama prensipleri ve oksijen tedavi yöntemleri ele alınmıştır.
