Erken Çocukluk Döneminde Sosyoduygusal Gelişim
Özet
Kitabın bu bölümünde erken çocuklukta ortaya çıkan psikososyal gelişim alanları anlatılmıştır. İnsan gelişiminde 4 ile 6 yaş arasında denk gelen bu evrede oluşan sosyal değişimler tarif edilmiş, çocukların benlik ve duygu alanlarında ortaya çıkan gelişimlere değinilmiştir. İlerleyen bilişsel becerilerinin de yardımıyla kendilerini ailesinden farklı bir birey olduğunu keşfetmesi, daha önce algılayamadığı karmaşık duyguları öğrenmesi ve bu değişiklerin çevreleri ile etkileşimlerinde ortaya koyduğu değişimler aktarılmıştır. Erken dönemdeki çocuklar, bebekliğe kıyasla ailelerinden özerkleşmeye başlarlar ve yaşıtlarının olduğu sosyal çevreler içinde daha bağımsız hareket edebilirler. Bununla beraber hala ebeveynlerinin yakın ilgi ve sıcaklığına ihtiyaç duyarlar. Ebeveynlerin de çocuklarının ortaya çıkan yeni becerilerine uyum sağlaması gerekmektedir. Bunun yanında çocuklarının yeni girdiği sosyal yapılar içerisinde onların davranışlarını ve duygularını düzenleyebileceği birtakım kurallar ortaya koymaya başlarlar. Bu kural ve tutumlar kişiden kişiye değişiklik gösterir ve bu farklı disiplin yöntemlerinin de çocukların davranışları üzerindeki etkisi de farklıdır. Bu bölümde yukarıda anlatılan konular çerçevesinde teoriler anlatılmış ve bilimsel araştırmalardan araştırmalardan örnekler verilmiştir.
