Cornell Demansta Depresyon Ölçeği
Özet
Demans hastalarında depresyonu tespit etmekte zorluklar vardır; standart depresyon semptomları demanslı hastalarda net olarak ortaya çıkmayabilir. Ayrıca yaşlıların genellikle depresif ruh hallerini inkâr etmeleri, en deneyimli klinisyenleri bile yanıltabilir. Demansta ortaya çıkan bilişsel bozuklukların da tablonun karışmasına ve depresyonun atlanabilmesine katkıda bulunduğu belirtilmektedir. Bu sebeplerden DSM kriterlerinden bağımsız olarak yalnızca demans tanılı hastalarda kullanılabilecek bir ölçek üretme gerekliliği doğmuştur. Cornell Demansta Depresyon Ölçeği de bu nedenle geliştirilen bir ölçektir.
