Exploring The Frontiers of Health Sciences Research: A Bibliometric Overview From 2020 To 2024
Özet
Health sciences are a multidisciplinary science that has existed throughout history and evolved over time, covering the processes of protecting, maintaining and improving health. The studies carried out in this field ensure the development of the field and thus the improvement of health. As a result of bibliometric studies in the field of health sciences, it is possible to identify trends and main axes in the literature by studying and analysing studies and obtaining quantitative data. In this study, the bibliometric analysis of studies in the field of health sciences in the Scopus database between 2020-2024, the type and language of publication, the distribution, the most influential journals and articles, the most influential countries and authors were analysed. It can be seen that the 12145 academic studies obtained are of different types, most of them (73.41%) are articles, most of the publications were made in 2024, and the academic studies were carried out in different languages, most of them in English. When analysing the distribution of the fields of study in the health sciences, it was found that the fields of medicine, community sciences and nursing had the largest share and the highest number of publications (465) was found in the journal iScience. In light of the data obtained from the bibliometric analysis, which also identified the most active author and the most cited publications, it is recommended to support multidisciplinary research, continue studies in the field of global health, increase academic products such as conference proceedings and book chapters other than articles, and ensure linguistic diversity.
