Yaygın Gelişme Geriliği

Özet

Bir çocuğun normal gelişimi, bilişsel ve uyumsal becerileri, dil ve iletişim becerileri, sosyal ve duygusal beceriler ile kaba ve ince motor beceriler gibi çeşitli kategorilere giren gelişim basamaklarından oluşmaktadır. Yaygın gelişme geriliği, uygun yaş aralığında psikomotor ve sosyal dönüm noktalarına ulaşamama olarak tanımlanır. Amerikan Pediatri Akademisi'ne göre YGG’nin tahmini insidansı çocukların yaklaşık %1-3'üdür (5 yaş altı). Çocuklar için yaşam kalitesini, refahını ve beklenen gelişimi iyileştirmek için çocuklar erken çocukluk gelişimi gecikmeleri açısından mutlaka değerlendirilmelidir.
