Geriatride Acil Nörolojik Hastalıklar
Özet
Geriatrik popülasyonda sıkça görülen nörolojik hastalıklar ileri yaşla birlikte artan fiziksel, zihinsel ve fizyolojik değişimlerin etkisiyle yüksek morbidite ve mortalite riski taşımaktadır. Bu bölüm acil servislerde yaşlı hastalarda görülen akut nörolojik hastalıkların tanı ve yönetimindeki zorlukları ele almaktadır. Yaşlı hastalarda akut nörolojik durumların klinik bulguları, genç popülasyona kıyasla daha belirsiz ve silik olabilmekte; bilişsel gerileme, iletişim güçlükleri ve eşlik eden çoklu hastalıklar tanı sürecini daha karmaşık hale getirmektedir. Bölümde akut iskemik inme, geçici iskemik atak, spontan intraserebral kanama, subaraknoid kanama, kronik subdural hematom ve merkezi sinir sistemi enfeksiyonları gibi yaygın akut nörolojik durumların özellikleri incelenmiştir. Ayrıca, bu hastalıkların klinik prezentasyonları, acil servislerdeki öncelikli tanı ve tedavi yaklaşımları ile yaşlı bireylerde nörolojik işlevlerin korunmasına yönelik stratejiler tartışılmaktadır. Geriatrik hastaların spesifik gereksinimlerini göz önünde bulunduran bu bölüm, acil tıp pratiğinde başvuru sayıları giderek artan bu grubun nörolojik açıdan yönetimine katkı sağlayacaktır.
