Pneumocephalus is the presence of air in the cranium (1). Headache, dizziness, nausea and vomiting, seizures, and neurologic depression are among possible symptoms (2). Head trauma is the most frequent cause of pneumocephalus (3). This case report presents the anesthetic management of a patient with pneumocephalus who was scheduled to undergo surgery for a bimalleolar fracture of the ankle.
