Biyokimya Laboratuvarlarında İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği

Özet

Biyokimya laboratuvarları çok çeşitli kimyasalın, biyolojik ürünlerin birlikte bulunduğu çok tehlikeli alanlardır. Çalışanlar için biyolojik ve kimyasal risklerin yanında fiziksel, ergonomik ve psikolojik bazı riskleri de barındırmaktadır. Laboratuvar çalışanlarının diğer tüm çalışanlar gibi güvenli ortamda çalışma hakkı bulunmaktadır. Laboratuvar çalışanlarının sağlığının korunması ve iyileştirilmesi için iyi sağlık uygulamalarının planlandığı ve yürürlüğe konulduğu ayrıca çevre dostu alanların inşa edilmesi gerekmektedir. Risk analizlerinin yapılması, tehlikelerin belirlenmesi, kimyasalların uygun depolanması ve kullanılması kadar uygun bir atık yönetim sistemi ile insan, hayvan ve bitkilerin yani ekosistemlerin dengesini bozmadan bertaraf edilmesi ve uzaklaştırılması gerekmektedir. Tüm bu basamaklarda çalışanların bilgilendirilmesi ve iş güvenliği için eğitimlerin verilmesi elzemdir. İnsan ve diğer canlıların sağlığı ve hayatın devamlılığı için büyük katkı sağlayan bilime destek olan bu alanlarda çalışanlar ve hizmet veren bireylerin sağlığını geliştirici ve iyilik halinin devamı için iş yerlerinde iyi sağlık uygulamaları, iş hijyenin sağlanması, iş barışının güçlendirilmesi ile örgütsel bağlığın ve üretkenliğin devamı sağlanacaktır. İş kazaları, mesleki maruziyetler, meslek hastalıkları gibi çalışanların sağlığını tehdit edici istenmeyen durumların gelişmesinin önlenmesi adına devlet, işveren ve çalışanın birlikteliği yanında ulusal bazda sivil toplum örgütlerinin, akademik camianın birlikteliği ve milletler arası anlaşmalarla ortak bir paydada geliştirilen standartlarla güvenli bir çalışma ortamı sağlanmalıdır.
