Tooth shape anomalies arise from disruptions during the morphodifferentiation stage of tooth development. These anomalies manifest as deviations from the normal form, leading to the development of teeth in different shapes. Various abnormalities, such as peg-shaped teeth and fused teeth, occur due to genetic factors, congenital diseases, and environmental influences (such as trauma and radiation). Diagnosis primarily involves clinical examination and radiographic evaluation, with laboratory tests required in some cases. Treatment focuses on restoring esthetics and function through composite or porcelain veneer restorations. Early diagnosis plays a critical role in improving long-term treatment success.
